Summer can be especially hard on pets with heavy fur and wildlife trying to survive the heat. One way you can help your fur babies as well as birds, small mammals and other wildlife is to make clean and fresh water available to them.
Each morning set a bowl of fresh water out for you housebound pets, but don’t forget about our outdoor animal friends. Consider setting a small bowl of water out in the backyard, too. If you have a birdbath, make sure it is kept clean and replenished with fresh water regularly.
Stagnant water breeds mosquitoes, so empty out any brackish water and watch for pooled water in anything left outside, such as toys or buckets, tires, old flower pots or anything where water can collect and not drain.
